About the WFL

World Football League-The WFL is an adult minor football league that contains teams from Austin Texas to Webster City Iowa in the central U.S.. The League is made up of the top teams in minor league football today and is continually making efforts to improve the quality of play for its member teams and fans. The WFL was formed and had a brief history in the early 70’s, featuring such NFL greats Larry Csonka and Danny White. The league soon folded due to under capitalization and trying to go head to head with the juggernaut NFL. The league was resurrected in 2007 by some of the top owners in minor league football including, Jewell Portwood (Dallas Diesel), D.J. Jones (Austin Gamebreakers), and James Ashford (Oklahoma Thunder). The goal for the league now is to develop talented athletes on and off the field and give young men a place to showcase their skills and further their football careers.

World Youth Football League- The WFL is commited to giving back to their member communities. One way we do that is the WYFL. The WYFL is the only national spring competitive football league. Kids from around the country compete on allstar teams in three age groups, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14. These kids are mentored by WFL players and coaches as well as former NFL greats such as Will Shields of the Kansas City Chiefs. The goal of the WYFL is to give young men the tools to succeed at an early age on and off the field.
